Marino’s Muzzle Master Guardian Dog Training Method

Protection Dog Martial Arts!

Train Your Own Dog in Obedience and Personal Protection!

(Note: Sorry for the mess, but I'm in the process of reorganizing the content!)

A family protection dog is NOT a police nor military dog. A family protection dog is NOT a sport nor tug entertainment dog. The training for a family protection dog is drastically DIFFERENT than any of these other dogs. Most of what we see online at places like YouTube are police, military, or sport dogs, NOT true family protection dogs. Most of the dogs we see are actually playing a tug game in prey drive, not posing a serious threat in defensive drive. As Master dog trainer Gypsy Stratten rightfully says, with a family protection dog, "the only show that matters is the showdown!"

Unfortunately, 99% of "protection" dog training systems that we see on social media platforms are actually fake! One video after another of the same old dead routine where the dog runs and bites a sleeve. Often the "decoy" or "helper" will have a weapon in one hand while the dog mindlessly sucks on the sleeve. In the real world, that's an injured or killed dog! People often confuse a dog that will bite, with a dog that will defend - NOT the same things! Learning how to work together with your dog using proper handling is absolutely missing from almost ALL dog training systems!

Developing an impassible guard and controlling the weapon hand are another area where most systems fall more than woefully short. What may look impressive on a YouTube video, could get your loved ones seriously injured and even killed in the real world, These deceptive protection dog training systems could cost you much more than your time and money. Don't be fooled by dead "chase and bite a sleeve" routines that have no contact with real defensive guardian dog training. The muzzle, worked in defensive drive, makes the protection dog training come alive! No game, no show. Real K9 self-defense for the real world.

Civil Agitation Technique and Equipment

What Do I Need? Play Audio Play Audio

Part One: Basic Civil Agitation

While most so called protection dog systems antagonize their dogs while they are back-tided to a post, we start out much differently by sitting in a chair!

Part Two: Developing An Impassible Guard

We want to keep our dogs close to us. We want to work together, and we want to keep it tight! Allowing our dog to be many feet in fount of us leaves us vulnerable to attack - if a bad guy gets between us and our dog, we're in BIG trouble!  This is basic self-defense strategy 101, and yet it is somehow totally absent from the so called "protection" dog YouTube community.

Part Three: Engagement - Basic Muzzle Work

With this style of protection training, we will not be working our dogs in a dead routine where the dog bites a sleeve while in prey drive. We will use a muzzle when engaging our hired "bad guy" and our dogs will be in defensive drive. In the dogs mind, the engagement is REAL!
